Trolining

The TROLINING technique – invented by TROLINING GmbH and also known as the ‘studded sheath’ process – is a patented process for the rehabilitation of wastewater pipes in the nominal diameter range of DN 300 – 2000. The clever part is that it makes absolutely no difference whether the section has a round, egg-shaped or even a special profile. The TROLINING process is based on one or more HDPE liners that can be combined surprisingly flexibly into individual systems, depending on the actual requirements. This allows us to offer you cost-efficient solutions even for complex rehabilitations.

How the TROLINING system is constructed

The centrepiece of the system is an HDPE liner with anchor studs on the outside in V-form, which we tailor to the dimension required for the rehabilitation. We call this studded sheath the “Troliner”. The pipe section that is to be rehabilitated is closed up at both ends, carefully cleaned and visually checked. The HDPE liners, which are wound around a drum in the production process, are then drawn one after another into one of the available ducts with the help of a cable winch. Once all the HDPE liners have been drawn in and carefully sealed for tightness at each end, we exert pressure on them with a defined head of water. The water is filled into the liner through openings in the impermeable cushions on both sides.

Fixation with “TROLINING Injektor”

When the pressure has been applied and the Troliner is lying against the walls, we fill the annular space formed by the anchor studs between the Troliner and the inner walls of the old piping with a special injection grout, the “TROLINING Injektor”. This extremely tightly fitting material fixes the Troliner permanently in its final position and creates the static component of the system.

For the rehabilitation of pipes > DN 2000, as also for the lining of arches and cracks in the nominal man-entry diameter range with HDPE, we apply the HDPE segment form of construction.

TROLINING bionic selfcleaning system

Already at first glance, the Bionic Self-Cleaning Troliner distinguishes itself from our other HDPE liners: special form structures are applied in the area of the flow grooves at the sole of the liner. The unavoidable deposition of sediment that builds up at these form structures is swirled up through turbulence and removed at the strongest flow point. This inevitably produces an excellent self-cleaning effect that assures long-term savings in cleansing costs. It also provides protection against slipping in the man-entry profile area.

A versatile system

TROLINING is an incredibly versatile system and can be used not only for pipe rehabilitation but also manhole lining, tank lining and in many other applications.
